The Willmott Park Primary School Council is a dedicated group of parents, staff, and community members who work together to support the ongoing success and improvement of our school. Demonstrating a broad range of interests, talents, and experience, the School Council is responsible for guiding and monitoring the school on behalf of the wider school community.
The Council has three core areas of responsibility:
- Finance – Overseeing the development of the school’s annual budget and ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.
- Strategic Planning – Participating in the development and monitoring of the School Strategic Plan to set long-term goals and priorities.
- Policy Development and Review – Creating, reviewing, and updating policies that reflect the school’s values and support its strategic direction.
In addition to these key responsibilities, the School Council also undertakes a range of other important functions, including:
- Raising funds to support school programs and initiatives.
- Maintaining school grounds and facilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment.
- Entering into contracts for services and works that benefit the school.
- Reporting annually to the school community and the Department of Education.
- Representing the views of the community and ensuring they are considered in school decision-making.
- Managing after-hours use of school buildings and grounds.
- Operating children’s services such as out-of-school-hours care where applicable.
