We provide students with an opportunity to challenge themselves, collaborate with peers and learn skills that are essential in the 21st century.

Technology is always evolving at Willmott Park Primary School. It offers tools for student learning and success. We use digital technology to improve engagement in education in new and innovative ways. This includes the use of Minecraft, 3D Printing and Design, Robotics, Virtual Reality & Coding. These opportunities allow students to engage with real life problem solving, while linking their understanding with the core curriculum areas of English and Mathematics.

Cyber Safety

At Willmott Park primary we will encourage all our students, staff and parents to be innovative whilst also being safe, responsible and aware digital users.

Whilst the internet and digital technologies serve as a wonderful educational tool, it is important that our students are aware of the inherent dangers of using the world wide web. Knowing this, Willmott Park is an eSmart school and we pride ourselves on providing a safe online learning environment. Our School Wide Positive Behaviour Matrix has a dedicated area of expectations that students follow when using digital technologies. Each student signs a user agreement before using digital technologies and staff and students regularly refer to this document when working in an online environment.

Cyber Safety is taught to ensure that our students are safe when working in a digital world. This includes learning about privacy, being safe online and strategies to deal with cyber bullying.

Digital Ambassadors

At Willmott Park Primary School, each class has 2 Digital Ambassadors to lead technology in their classroom and their cohorts. These ambassadors attend lessons that provide them with an opportunity to learn new skills. These skills are then shared with their classmates to ensure consistency in practise across all year levels. They are also the leaders of student agency re digital footprints and being safe digital users.

School Infrastructure

At Willmott Park we provide families with the opportunity to participate in our 1:1 BYO iPad program. This program allows for anytime, anywhere learning. We also provide extra iPads in the prep to Year 2 area and Netbooks for students in Years 3-6.

We have a range of digitally interactive resources within the classroom to enhance student learning and teacher instruction.

Willmott Park Primary School also offers 3D printing, robotics using Lego Mindstorm, Spheros & Bee Bots, MakeyMakeys and a Green Screen recording studio for our Junior School Council Reports.
